XSplit Presenter is a powerful application that lets you remotely host dynamic presentations unto supported video conferencing apps such as Zoom, Skype, Google meet, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, and more.

Deliver presentations through your personal website or video hosting channel like YouTube with the application’s local recording feature. Stylize your presentation with overlay elements and interact more with your presentation using the slide drawing tools.

Logging In

When launching XSplit Presenter, you can log in with either your XSplit account, or a social login such as a Google account, Facebook, Twitch, or Twitter account. After logging in, you’ll be brought to the main XSplit Presenter window.

Connecting Presentations

XSplit Presenter allows you to connect existing presentations from Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, or a PDF Document.

Connecting a PowerPoint Presentation

You can import Microsoft PowerPoint presentations by selecting Connecting Presentation > Add a PowerPoint Presentation.

Click Browse to locate your PowerPoint presentation file then click Add.

Connecting a Google Slide Presentation

Google Slide presentations can be added by selecting Connect Presentation > Add a Google Slide Presentation and paste your Google Slides shared URL then click Add.

Make sure that your Google Slide is viewable to anyone with the link.

Connecting a PDF Document

PDF document files can be added by selecting Connect Presentation > Add a PDF Document.

You can import local files by clicking the Browse button or provide a PDF URL for online documents then click Add.

Re-syncing your Presentation

If you modify your connected presentations, you can re-sync your changes by clicking thevertical ellipses icon next to your project name then select Re-sync Presentation.

Note: If you want to start over with new presentations, click on the vertical ellipses icon and select New Project.

It's important that you save a backup of your project after you edit your presentation or slides. Click the vertical ellipses icon and select Save Project. Select Load Project to fill your backed-up project file.

Adding Slides

You can add a live camera feed, video file, image, interactable webpage, or a screen capture as a new slide for your presentation by clicking on + Add Slide.

Basic properties can be changed on the bar below the slide preview and also by clicking the gear icon for advanced options.

Blank Slide

Selecting Blank Slide will add a blank canvas. It gives you the freedom to customize the slide by adding Overlay Elements.


Allows you to set a webcam device as a fullscreen slide. Useful for moments where you want your audience to focus on you.

You can also remove your background by clicking the Remove Background button beside the gear icon.

Video File

Display a Video as a slide with media controls. This can be used to add a video slide while you’re presenting.

Image File

Set an image as a slide. Useful for adding additional static slides on the fly.


Add a webpage as a slide. You can interact with the webpage during your presentation.

My Screen

Add a screen capture of either a monitor or an application window. This can be used to provide additional visual slides or to display applications on their own slide.

There are multiple capture modes available; Smart Selection lets you click on an application window to capture it, Monitor Capture allows you to display a specific monitor, and Window Capture lets you select a specific application from the process list.

Advanced properties can be configured by clicking on the gear icon beside the basic functions.

Adding Overlay Elements

Overlay elements allow you to add cameras, media files, and screen capture on top of your slides. Multiple overlays can be added to a single slide, then you can position and resize them to suit your presentation.

You can also copy overlay elements onto other slides by clicking the copy icon on the overlay panel at the right side of the screen and use the paste icon on the desired active slide. Elements can be locked into place with the lock icon.


Adds a camera overlay to your slide. Useful for showing which presenter is currently speaking.

Video File

Overlay a video file on the current slide and control it with the media controls on the right-side panel.

Image File

Overlay an image on the current slide. Can be used as a picture-in-picture showcase.


Adds an overlay of a webpage onto your slide. The webpage is interactable and can be used for live demonstration purposes.

My Screen

Add a screen capture of either a monitor or an application window. This can be used to provide additional visual aid during demonstrations or to display a monitoring application as an overlay element.

There are multiple capture modes available; Smart Selection lets you click select on an application window to capture, the Monitor Capture allows you to display a specific monitor, and Window Capture lets you select a specific application from the process list.

Using the Slide Tools and Transition Effects

XSplit Presenter has annotation tools that can help you direct your presentation and a selection of transition effects with adjustable duration.

You can use the Freehand, Circle, Rectangle, and Arrow annotation tools to highlight aspects of your presentation. You can also edit the color and line thickness of your annotations.


Allows you to create objects with no predefined shapes.


Allows you to encircle an element on the slide.


Allows you to make a rectangular selection on the current slide and you can also draw squares when holding down shift while dragging.


Allows you to draw an arrow to point at a particular object on your presentation.

When you’re done annotating, you can clear all annotations by clicking the trash can icon.

Transition Effects

You can select from multiple transitions and adjust their duration in milliseconds (ms).

Setting Up Audio

You can set up your Audio by clicking the System Sound and Microphone icons on the bottom left corner of the Presenter app window, then select the device you want to use. This only works on recording since video conferencing apps have their own audio setup.

You can also use the volume slider to adjust the volume level of your audio. To mute your audio input, click the Speaker or Microphone icon next to the volume slider.

You can access more options on setting up and testing your microphone audio by clicking on the menu icon at the top-left corner of the XSplit Presenter app window and selecting Settings > Audio tab.


XSplit Presenter can present through any web conferencing tools or display a fullscreen presentation on a separate monitor.

When clicking on Present > Web conferencing tool and select the video conferencing app you use to get instructions on how to present to the application.

For Project to a monitor, you can select which monitor to project your presentation onto.


Create unlimited video recordings to present on your channel or website. The recording feature lets you easily record and save a video file to your local drive.

Note: Streaming feature not yet available in the Beta access. Click the Stream button and suggest your preferred outputs through our form.

Click the Record button at the bottom part of the Presenter app window to start recording. The record button will change into a Stop button once the recording is in session. Stopping the record will automatically save your recording into your local drive.

You can pause and continue your record by clicking the Pause icon next to the Stop button.

A pop-up notification will appear when the recording has ended.

If you want to change where your recordings will be saved, click on Menu > Settings at the top-left corner of the Presenter app then go to the Recording tab.

Click the Change button under DIRECTORY and select your preferred folder location.
